As members of the creative force behind the theming production for Curse at Alton Manor, team members who would later form Magna Studios helped bring Alton Towers’ most chilling dark ride to life, transforming the eerie tale of Emily Alton into a fully immersive experience.

Through detailed and technical design, a unique blend of gothic architecture, supernatural motifs, and larger-than-life sets were used to craft the atmospheric story. 3D-printed scale prototype models were developed, allowing for hands-on evaluation and a seamless client approval process.

To realise the ride’s most iconic elements, CNC machining was used to produce large-scale sculptural features, including the unforgettable Emily Alton head — the striking finale of the attraction — and other key theming components. Every item and every set was engineered for both dramatic effect and long-term durability.

The result is a richly detailed, spine-tingling environment that draws guests deep into the twisted world of Curse at Alton Manor, enhancing the narrative through immersive design and precision-built theming.
